update the bios
BIOS stands for Basic Input Output System and one of its many important functions on your laptop is to recognize and configure the hardware in your system (ie your monitor).
The BIOS may be outdated and unable to recognize your screen properly, which can cause your laptop screen to dim.
Step 1:Identify and write down the make and model of your laptop and its BIOS version.
- Type "system information" in the Start search bar
- Open the called appSystem Information
- Locate "System Manufacturer", "System Model", "BIOS Version/Date",Y'Processor'
- Schreiber
Step 2:Navigate to the laptop manufacturer's website and locate the laptop model page
Level 3:In the BIOS section of your laptop's side, compare your latest version to the version you wrote down in step 1
Level 4:Update the appropriate BIOS for your processor if you have an update available
Step 5:Close all open programs and disable your antivirus program (you can re-enable it afterwards
updated BIOS)
Step 6:Let the BIOS update completely and restart your computer
USE:the BIOS must be fully updated BEFORE the computer is restarted; Do not interrupt the update.
BIOS updates are not as frequent, so you don't have to constantly update your laptop's BIOS like your generic drivers do.
Replace the LCD inverter
If the above tips didn't improve the brightness of your screen, chances are your laptop's LCD inverter is defective or has failed. This little piece of hardware is responsible for the screen's backlighting (i.e. what makes the screen glow).
The LCD inverter, like any hardware in your computer, can fail for unknown reasons. It is best to take your laptop to a professional to have the LCD inverter replaced.
Don't try to find it yourself, as you could void your laptop's warranty by opening the case. It's probably hidden under other hardware, and you risk permanent damage to your laptop if you try to remove it yourself.
We recommend taking your laptop to a professional if your screen is still dark after trying these fixes. They can pinpoint the exact cause of the problem and give you a better idea of what the possible solutions are.

Macs don't seem to have this problem as often as Windows laptops, but if you find that your Macbook's screen is dimmed at maximum brightness, a workaround is to reset thatSystems Management Controller (SMC)which, among other things, controls the backlit display of your Macbook.
If the battery is non-removable (for newer Macbooks):
Step 1:Choose Apple menu > Shut down and wait for your Mac to shut down.
Step 2:Press Shift-Control-Option on the left side of the integrated keyboard and press the power button at the same time. Press and hold these keys and the power button for 10 seconds. If you have a MacBook Pro with Touch ID, the Touch ID button is also the power button.
Level 3:Release all keys.
Level 4:Press the power button again to turn on your Mac.
